Takao ONO
May 8 Fri. - 30 Sat. 2009
TUE.-SAT. 12:00-19:00
CLOSED ON SUNDAY, MONDAY and NATIONAL HOLIDAYS

Ono says, "My rivals are the painters of the Renaissance around 500 years ago", and has been painting the portrait by tempera consistently. His reputation has been rising because of the success of his retrospective show at the Ikeda 20th Century Museum of Art in 2008.
In this exhibition, we are mainly exhibiting his "Fragment" series which are drawn on boards cut in the shape of subjects. Even when Ono draws things other than humans, he manages to give them their own personality and in that way it becomes a portrait.
