Kojiro KISAKA (1968-)
Born 1968 in Kyoto. Kisaka graduated 1991 from the Department of Western Painting at Kyoto Seika University. In 1993, he moved to Finland on a fellowship by the Finnish government to pursue his artistic career. Since his return to Japan in 1996, he continues to work and live in his native Kyoto. Kisaka’s works, either painted in tempera colors or drawn with charcoal, take inspiration from the poetry of T. S. Eliot (1888-1965), particularly Eliot's expression "At the still point" from the poet’s "Four Quartets." His work spans a variety of media; apart of being a painter Kisaka also has been active as a stage designer, costume, make-up and graphic designer for dance, drama and opera.
