Koshima Yusuke-Urban Landscape Fantasia GOLD

We are pleased to hold our fourth Koshima Yusuke exhibition.

Since 2014, Koshima has been traveling to the the center of Echizen washi paper, Takefu, Fukui Prefecture, to create his own washi drawing paper. This year he has begun to collaborate with the hakuga artist Noguchi Takuro to create a series of gold-pressed Urban Landscape Fantasia works. This time we will present 13 new works including a large-scale drawing the size of a tatami mat.

On 11/17 (Sat) at 17:00 we will host a gallery talk by Waseda professor Nakayama Reiji (architecture, archeology). *Reservations required, 1,000 yen per person


The artist plans to be present at the gallery on: 11/08 (Thurs), 11/09 (Fri), 11/10 (Sat), 11/11 (Sun), 11/17 (Sat), 11/18 (Sun)

 

■ Yusuke KOSHIMA (1987-)
Registered architect. Born 1979 in New Jersey, USA. Returned to Japan in 1987 and since then, grew up in Canada (Toronto), England (Manchester) and Tokyo. Graduated from Waseda University in 2004. In the same year started architect career at Sauerbruch Hutton Architekten, the architect studio in Berlin.

In 2008, he returned to Japan and established Yusuke Koshima Architecture Studio. Inaugurated as a part-time lecturer at Kuwasawa Design School in 2010, and at Nihon University Junior College in 2011.
