In memoriam・Jonas Mekas Films Screening

Jonas Mekas, a filmmaker, curator, archivist, critic and all-around evangelist for independently made movies in general, and for those variously known as experimental, underground or avant-garde in particular, died on Wednesday at his home in Brooklyn. He was 96.

May he rest in peace. We will hold a 5 day film screening event in Mekas' memory (DVD). We will send the full entrance fee of 1000\ along with everyone's messsages as condolences to the Anthology Film Archive.

The shortest film is 68m(The Brig)and the longest is 180m(Walden). No reservations are necessary.

His representative film「Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania」(82m)will be shown every day.

From 15:00 on 2/9(Sat)we will hold the "On Mekas" talk event with Iinuma Akiko and Kinoshita Tetsuo.
