Have you ever heard of Kubo Sadajiro (1909-1996)? An art critic who formed relationships with many artists during his lifetime, particularly with members of Demokrato Bijutsu Kyokai, his extraordinary post-war activity left an outsize mark on the art world. In addition, the efforts of the Souzo Biiku Kyokai who incorporated the new methods of foreign arts education were spread throughout Japan thanks to Kubo's work. In his later years, he made immeasurable contributions in positions including president of Atomi Junior College and the first chairman of the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts. "Kubo Sadajiro no Kai" (Kubo Sadajiro Association) was formed by Kubo's former students to look back on his legacy and maintain it for future generations. At this exhibition, we will display works by 21 artists who were in Kubo's collection. We would love for you to share in the joy of welcoming into your life works by the artists Kubo advocated.
