Hiroko OKAMOTO

Born in 1957. After graduating from Musashino Junior College of Art in Tokyo, she entered Sokei Academy of Fine Arts and Design to study hanga. Held her first solo exhibition, “The Sweaters”, in Tokyo in 1981. Became a member of the Hanga Association in 1982, then moved to Paris in 2001.

She left the Hanga Association several years later. OKAMOTO held exhibitions in Japan, France, Italy, and Canada, earning much acclaim and many awards along the way. She passed away in 2007 at age 50, leaving over 3000 works.
