Tomizo YOSHIKAWA

Photographer. Born in Shiga Prefecture in 1900.
1916, with the support of Nojima Yasuzo and Akiyama Tetsusuke, began to study under Shizuoka City's Hirao Keiji. 1919, entered the Tokyo Photography Research Center. 1921, inherited the Misaka Photo Store in Tokyo, Nihonbashi, Ningyocho from Nojima Yasuzo and began business. 1930, established a club with Kagoshima Jiro and Kimura Ihei. 1947, co-ran the Nisha Photo Studio in front of TOkyo Kanda Station. 1948, established and ran the Japan Portrait Photographer's Association.

1953, joined the Kokuga Association Photography Division. 1954, started the Tokyo-to Photographer's Association and became the director. 1965, received a labor award from the Japan Photography Associaion. 1966, became director of the Tokyo Photographer Research Association. He also worked as an advisor for the Tokyo Photography Research Center and managing director for the Japan Photographer Association. Passed away in 1995.

His major photo collections were published in 1962, 1968, 1975, 1980, and 1987.
