Takeshi Hara, born 1942 in Nagoya, studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and spent 1975-76 working and traveling in England and the Unites States on a fellowship by the Agency of Cultural Affairs.

Hara has since his participation the 1971 Biennale in Paris continued to be active internationally. His prints are characterized by his sharp sense of color.
